Glasgow Homelessness Network (GHN) facilitated two surveys about people’s experiences of poverty and received over 750 responses.
Issues around ‘housing and the local area’ featured very prominently - either poor quality housing being a defining condition of poverty, or better housing seen as offering people a route out of poverty. You can access both the GHN surveys here.
There are currently 36 volunteers with a passion for housing and who represent a diverse range of backgrounds and experiences. So far they have provided advocacy for 231 people with a housing problem. In addition volunteers will be meeting the council’s team to discuss their involvement in the consultation on the new Local Housing Strategy.
